Sweet Generation is an artisan bakery specializing in handcrafted pastries and cakes, but we are more than just a bakery.
Every purchase of our award-winning pastries supports RISE, Sweet Generation’s nonprofit workforce development program serving young people from historically marginalized communities.
The RISE experience offers a taste of the entrepreneurial journey, working with industry professionals to explore the steps in starting a small food business. Participants train in job readiness, professional baking, hospitality, food handling & barista certification and entrepreneurial thinking through employment in our creative bakery space.

Cada compra de nuestros pasteles y postres premiados respalda a RISE, el programa sin fines de lucro de Sweet Generation, el cual se enfoca en el desarrollo laboral de jóvenes de comunidades históricamente marginadas.
La experiencia RISE ofrece una muestra del campo empresarial, trabajando con profesionales de la industria, explorando los pasos necesarios para iniciar una pequeña empresa de productos alimenticios. A través del trabajo en nuestro espacio creativo, los participantes se capacitan en preparación para el empleo, pastelería profesional, hospitalidad y pensamiento empresarial. También reciben la certificación de manipulación de alimentos y de barista.

Our Philosophy
Core Belief
Work should be a place where individuals can be themselves and contribute their creativity to their daily tasks and the ongoing growth and development of the business. Employees are encouraged to develop creative projects based on their skills and interests - these projects have ranged from curating our youth art wall to installing complex thematic window displays to organizing a youth blog. We believe that when you can bring your passion to work, you are happier, more fulfilled, and more productive.
Partners
By partnering with nonprofits and schools, we are able to provide internships and job opportunities for youth that are paid or earn school credit. We select partners based on mission alignment, programmatic structure, and support systems.
Culture
We believe in the value of a strong community and supportive team environment. To encourage high morale, our Sunshine Committee is responsible for creating activities to celebrate staff including holiday theme parties, catered family meals, employee discounts, customized employee gifts, paid time off, financial bonuses, and more.
